Campaign ‘Pupils ask you – slow down by the school goes on

03.10.2008.

A new season of educational campaign ‘Pupils ask you – slow down by the school’ started on Wednesday 01st of October on the International Day of Child.

Mayor Dragan Djilas, JKP ‘Parking Servis’ Deputy CEO Boban Kovacevic  and campaign activists will address the first graders of Vuk Karadzic primary school on 6th October to mark the occasion.

It has been planned that 133 Belgrade schools will be visited with a view to raising pupils’ awareness of importance of knowing and respecting traffic rules through 30 minute long plays. Pupils will be given fluorescent vests which are designed to fit their size and age. A uniformed policeman accompanied by a JKP ‘Parking Servis’ entertainer will help the youngest pupils to learn traffic rules.

The campaign organizer’s hope is that the care for the youngest will grow into an every day habit and wearing of fluorescent vests will become a custom adopted by the generations to come.

The campaign is supported by Belgrade City Council, Education Department, Traffic Department and Home Office – Belgrade Traffic Police Department.
