City public service companies make significant progress

New organization of work, improved coordination, synchronization of annual business plans and collaboration on a daily basis have resulted in much better efficiency and financial savings of the city public service companies, Zivorad Andjelković, Belgrade Deputy Mayor, said today when presenting to the journalists an annual end result of the city service companies in ‘Stari Dvor’.

City assembleyAndjelković has pointed out that the service companies have been doing business in difficult settings but Belgrade has been functioning without problems.

‘Over the last year we have been affected by the circumstances which are not typical for business environment and I would like to single out in the first place the world recession, lack of natural gas at the world market and two severe winters with a lot of snow. Moreover, the city companies have taken part in organization of great sports events such as Universiade as well as preparation and realization of a few infrastructure projects. Against all odds, normal life in Belgrade has never been disrupted for a single moment’, says Zivorad Andjelković.

Deputy Mayor has listed the most significant results of the city public service companies during the year and has presented major projects, which will be carried out in the year to come. When talking about JKP ‘Parking Servis’ results,  Andjelković has said that this company has extended a zoned parking system by 5.340 new parking places, has modernized the garages in Pozarevacka and Radivoja Koraca Street, has launched a project ‘Spider video surveillance’, has expanded capacities in the remaining seven garages and at the ‘Milan Gale Muskatirović’ car park  it has built 306 new parking places. During the next year this company will extend the zoned parking system at Zvezdara and Palilula municipalities.
