A reconstructed car park at the Military Medical Academy in Crnotravska Street has been launched today. The works created 874 parking places instead of 310 which were there before. 761 parking places are provided for VMA patients and their visitors, 113 parking places for the staff, and persons with disabilities can avail of 20 parking places.
VMA Head, Col. Prof. Dr. Marijan Novaković and JKP ‘Parking Servis' CEO Boban Kovačević addressed the journalist who attended the opening.
‘The car park capacity has been almost trebled by doing this reconstruction. The price of parking will be 45 dinars per hour while the first half an hour will not be charged. 20 parking places will be provided for persons with disabilities and parking will be free for 8hours.
The new car park created a huge benefit for the city and people who might once come to the VMA. This is also a good example of the cooperation between the two state institutions, which will solve the problem of parking at VMA and contribute to introducing the communal order in the whole neighbourhood.
This year, new 1500 parking places
have been opened in Belgrade, which is a great success in the year of crisis.
At the beginning of the next year we will open a car park in Vojvode Dobrnjca
Street, which will boast 270 parking places', added Kovačević.
VMA Head, Col. Marijan Novaković said, at the launching event, that a new car
park will offer a better service to the staff and patients.
‘This has solved a problem of parking. People will not have to wait and look for a free space or park their vehicles on the grass and in the nearby streets thus blocking the traffic. It will also contribute to the safety of both the staff and patients,' said the Colonel Novaković.
All entrances to the car park are equipped with the modern automated control of payment and charging is done when a vehicle is taken.
The initiative to expand the car park was started by the Ministry of Defense, VMA management, City of Belgrade and JKP ‘Parking Servis'.
