Experts in the field of parking gathering

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of founding of Association of Serbian Parking, the first regional congress on parking ‘Parkway 2012' was held on 4th June 2012. The aim of the congress was to develop regional cooperation between the local authorities and businesses which are involved in traffic and parking organization in the country and region.

The host of this year's event Boban Kovačević, JKP ‘Parking Servis' CEO said that the first regional congress on parking was organized in order to get the professional community in Serbia and its neighbourhood acquainted with the practical examples of strategic management of parking space and traffic in Europe.

‘By organizing Parkway 2012 we would have liked to improve cooperation and find new possibilities and solutions in organizing traffic, improving traffic mobility and protecting the environment', said Boban Kovačević.

Robert Presl, the managing director of European Local Transport Information Service presented for the first time in Serbia ‘ELTIS', the organization which deals with strategic management of transport and traffic in Europe and introduced some of their experiences in the field of parking.

Danijela Božanić, the Head of Department for the Climate Changes of the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning talked about the influence of traffic on the environment.

Novica Mićević, representing Department of Traffic of the City of Belgrade, presented European Union's project ‘Active access', financed from the programme Intelligent Energy Europe - IEE, which aims to increase walking and bicycle use in the local communities so as to improve people's health, the environment and local economy.

Parkway 2012 was organized in cooperation with JKP ‘Parking Servis' Belgrade and Association of Car Parks of Serbia and sponsored by the City of Belgrade, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Environment.
