VEPP 'Obilicev venac'

Obilicev venac

Multi storey parking space ‘Obilicev Venac’ is situated between the streets ‘Obilicev Venac’ and ‘Marsala Birjuzova’, in the central city zone.

At the moment the capacity of this garage is 628 parking spaces and they are distributed over 12 semi levels, total area of 12.350 m2.

The capacity of the surrounding parking places and of the garage itself do not meet the needs in this part of the city. In close proximity of the garage there is a great number of public offices, business and trade facilities which dictates the need for increasing the capacity of the garage and organising additional parking facilities.

The attraction of the location (the garage can be accessed from two streets: Obilicev Venac and Marsala Birjuzova with a few exit / entrance ramps) and financial justification offer the possibility of building an annex to the garage with a view to increasing the parking capacity and organising business premises and other facilities.

JKP ‘Parking servis’ board of directors has made a decision to start the procedure with the authorized state bodies in order to begin building an annex to the garage.

On 08.04.206. JKP ‘Parking servis’ with the help of The Association of Belgrade Architects invited architects to enter the competition for the Preliminary design of building annexes to the garage. The jury has unanimously chosen the design with the code number ‘68154’, by the team of architects Anja Ivana Milic, Djojdje Nedeljkovic and Aleksandar Nedeljkovic.

The winning design creates new 220 parking places and 3230 m2 business premises.

As almost the whole garage closes at the front side, the free areas are planned to be covered by a dense steel screen as a façade cover. This screen allows the garage ventilation and ads to the general aesthetics. In order to have as good ventilation as possible, ventilation holes – canals are planned in the design. The steel construction is planned for building the annex because it allows for the flexibility in functional space organization. The façade is designed as a glass wall – curtain, which is partially transparent.

Preparing of technical documentation and obtaining of requirements are in progress at the moment.
