“Obilićev venac” garage has been nominated for EPA Award 2019, in category for renovated parking structure, on European Parking Association competition in Malaga.

EPA organizes biannual competition in five categories: new parking structures (garages), renovated parking structure, street parking, innovations and parking marketing. PUC “Parking service” participated in competition with renovation project of “Obilićev venac” garage. Beside that project, two more garages were in final – renovated parking structures in Belgium (Brussels and Zaventem).

PUC “Parking servis” was represented by General Manager Andrija Čupković, alongside with chief Belgrade urbanist Marko Stojčić. Stojčić said that this project was the only one, out of 40 garages, which was not from European Union.

“We proved that renovation of public areas and buildings is on the highest quality level. This is motivating for us, also a proof that we are moving in right direction. We will continue our work until complete renovation of Belgrade”, Stojčić said.

PUC “Parking Servis” General Manager, Andrija Čupković reminded that Faculty of Civil Engineering University of Belgrade had made study during 2013, which proofed that garage is not stabile and not safe, requesting permanent facility closing.

“We are proud today. I have to thank City of Belgrade for huge support, to European Parking Association and to mine hard working team”, Čupković said during award ceremony in congress hall in Malaga.

He said that EPA competition was opportunity to compare projects from Europe and winning award was proof of quality of “Parking Servis” work on renovating “Obilićev venac” garage. Čupković reminded that “Obilićev venac” garage received Parksmart certificate in 2018, for first green garage in Europe.

Čupković said, “More than 150 things we had to do, to meet requirements for receiving certificate for first green garage in Europe. You may find 15 similar garages in America, one in China and only one in Europe, “Obilićev venac” Garage.”

Laurence Bannerman, President of European Parking Association said all participants in competition were good. Independent and qualified jury had visited each location, before winners were promoted. He said that renovation of “Obilićev venac” Garage was very innovative European project and everybody was impressed with level of commitment invested in it.

During winners promotion, all of them received statues and plaques, and confetti cannons were fired on stage.
