Third zone for the lower Dorcol

25.05.2009.

As of 01st of June JKP ‘Parking Servis’ in cooperation with Traffic Department introduce zoned parking system at lower Dorcol, an area bounded with the following streets: Džordža Vašingtona, Tadeuša Košćuška, Cara Dušana, Dunavskom, Bulevarom despota Stefana, Cvijićevom, Poenkareovom, Venizelisovom.

Zoned parking system extension was initiated by Stari grad municipality at citizens’ request. The residents of the area who own a vehicle are entitled to privileged parking ticket and parking without a time limit.

Privileged parking tickets can be purchased from today 25th May at the JKP ‘Parking Servis’ premises in Starine Novaka Street no. 22 on weekdays from 07.00 – 21.00 and on Saturdays from 07.00 – 14.00. To obtain the privileged ticket the drivers should enclose an identity card photocopy and a registration document.

A privileged parking ticket is not valid in green zones in other parts of the city, but only in the part where a privileged parking ticket holder resides. For those who don’t have a privileged parking ticket in the third zone parking is limited to three hours and is charged 23,00 dinars per commenced hour.

Residents can get additional information at Info-media center in Kraljice Marije Street no. 7 or at tel. no. 30-35-400 or by sending a question to info@parking-servis.co.rs

At Traffic Department’s request University of Traffic in Belgrade prepared a report on effects of introducing zoned parking system in the areas surrounded by tram no. 2 (city center). The analysis showed that five drivers use one parking place daily while in the red zone this number is even seven users.

Along with introducing parking zone at lower Dorcol the traffic regime is changing and one-way street system is being launched. Due to these changes all participants in traffic will move more easily and traffic flow through narrow Dorcol streets will be made more efficient. This is why the project of zoned parking extension is in interest of all Belgrade citizens.
